Wedding Photos - The Choosing

Well, this section of the photographs has taken us two sittings. Whittling down about 300 photos to 80!! Our top 10, 30 of our 2nd favourites and then 40 of our 3rd favourites. It sounds like a lot! We didn't do too bad actually. After several umm ... 'disagreements' about the method of choosing we settled on just going through and listing ALL the photos that we liked and then seeing what we ended up with. It worked out great!! Let's hear it for us!! We finished and counted up the complete list - 96! Not bad. We left that for the first sitting and did the 'rating' the following evening. That was harder, thinking you've got it worked out then finding one you really like and finding that the only space is in the 3rd favourites section! But we've managed it, so just have to send them off and then its a three week wait for our album to arrive!! Really looking forward to it, just have to decide which ones we want as our 'hang 'em on the wall' photos.

We were given a beautiful album by our bridesmaid and best man of the photos that they had taken on the day. They had got it printed out storybook style (with the photos actually printed on the page) with backgrounds and inserts and everything! It was wonderful, a great keepsake and handy too! I know a lot of people who say they get their 'official' album made up and then decide they don't want to risk spoiling it by showing it to anyone! So get others made up as 'showables', this album will be perfect for that!! The photos are excellent also, helps having a great photographer as your head bridesmaid!!

The Honeymoon - Is Never Over!!

We are back, and have been for about four days now, from our honeymoon in the Maldives!! It was incredible!! It was like being in a living picture postcard! (I'll get the photos up ASAP but they are still in the camera, there are SO many!!!)

We managed to get into the 700's, which if you know Meeru island at all is no mean feat! Everyone wants them becaus eit is at the Adult Only end of the island, no children allowed in the resturants, accommodation etc. We arrived and were told that there was no space in the covetted 700's but that if we kept asking everyday they would move us if one became available. We were a bit disheartened but still chuffed to be here. Then we were called up to the desk to be given our room key and a map of the island etc and were told that there was one room available in the 700's and they wanted to give it to us!!! We had to keep quiet in the beginning as various people in the same situation as us were not being given this opportunity! We were stunned! Hurray!!

It couldn't have been better getting to the North end of the island! It was beautiful, great room, great resturant, great service!! We could go straight to the sea down some steps from the back of our room, so we quickly got out the snorkling gear and were away!! Within minutes a shark (approx. 5ft) swam past me! Amazing! We later discovered that it was a Black Tipped Reef Shark. There were so many fish of different sizes and colours, including the sharks and rays!!

We were there during Monsoon Season so we had our fair share of rain but I have never seen real life monsoon style rain so that was an experience in itself! Although a damp one.

We took a couple of trips, a Sunset Cruise and a Night Fishing Trip - both of these were included in the All Inclusive Package. I caught three big fish!! And a little one that got put back as it was only a baby. The Sunset Cruise was a bit strange in that we didn't cruise, just bobbed about and there wasn't a sunset until after we were heading back!

We also took a trip to the nearby local island to get a better idea of the culture and life in the Maldives. We also went to a picnic island for snorkeling and a BBQ, as well as a visit to another resort island - Eyriadu (think that's right). I am so glad we picked the island that we did!!

We also got ourselves a massage. There was a 15 minute one included in the AI package but we also booked a full hour 'His 'n' Hers' massage, which was great!! The spa was also over the water and attached to the same pontoon thing that our bungalow was on. We got another bottle of Champagne as a gift after the massage, which is no good to us as neither of us can stand the stuff!!!

Wedding - D-Day!!!

Well, it was the most perfect day!! i am sure that many people say that about their wedding day but this really was. We had no major problems, a few blemishes but we just smoothed then away. Although it had been pouring with rain at the beginning of the week Thursday came round sunny and warm. The atmosphere was incredible, it was difficult to realise that the whole of this beautiful setting, the castle, the gardens everything was totally there just for us and our guests to enjoy!!

I was SO nervous in the car on the way to the castle!! We hadn't booked anything special vehicle wise but dad dressed up as a chauffeur to drive myself and Jess there! I was fine when we were having our hair and make-up done but at any point when I had to just sit and wait, I got really scared!! The little flower girls looked wonderful and seemed to really like being dressed up!! So did the bridesmaids!

I saw my bouquet for the first time about 20 minutes before I had to leave and it was beautiful, my little 'putting-my-foot-down' moment was worth it, the Black Baccara roses were gorgeous!! We did in the end have a piper to pipe us in and out of the "church" but we decided that he wouldn't lead the prosession but stand up, behind the minister at the top of the "aisle". This meant that he wasn't overly imposing and gave the guests an opportunity to watch him! Great for the English and Welsh family! I was nearly in tears as I walked up to meet David, I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to get any words out, or that I would start crying right in the middle of it all, but I managed to hold it together.
Afterwards it was like being famous for a day, every moment that we stopped this wall of flashes and clicks started up!! Our photographer was excellent and we fully recommend her (Ally Stuart) she took great formal, but not-so-formal shots of everyone and really captured the day!!

We got a short time to enjoy the gardens while Ally took the photographs and our videographer captured all the action live!! The guests were loving it, there was croquet on the lawn and some games for the kids. They went off exploring and chatted together. A slight blip in that we thought we had till 4.30pm (ceromony at 2) for all the photos but the venue thought it was only until 3.45pm. But I pushed for the photos, I felt that they were an important part of it and wanted some good ones. Alos, it was such a nice day that I felt it was nice for the guests to enjoy the weather and the whole 'being outside' experience, that was afterall why we choose this venue!!

The reception hall looked fabulous, exactly how I had wanted it, nice, very understated. I had always wanted to go with elegant rather than extravagant!! The food was a big hit with all the guests, many of whom were off for seconds (and thirds??!) We also had a buffet in the middle of the evening, leftovers (lol) and stovies! As well as a chance for some of the cake. For the meal itself my choices of dessert went down a storm (I'm pretty chuffed about that! I'm glad I got the choice right!!) We had Creme Brulee but with a difference - chocolate sauce and raspberries hidden at the bottom of the dish!! And a White Cocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake (See the unintentional theme!!). The cheese cake is something that I make myself - get the recipe here -
Cheesecake Recipe

The band was as we expected, brilliant, and everyone enjoyed themselves, even getting up for a huge Grand Old Duke of York and a rendition of The Music Man with actions!! Our flowergirl Kayleigh made sure everyone was entertained and dancing by collecting them all and taking them the dancefloor. We got some toys and colouring for the children too and as it was a nice night we had bubbles they could go off into the gardens and enjoy!

We stayed the night in the castle, in a huge room overlooking the lake. The bathroom was huge with a massive free standing bath and massive shower. You needed to pack a lunch to walk from one side to the other!!

Next moring it was a full English or continental breakfast in the castle's dining room before heading off. We took our marriage paperwork to the registrar to get it sorted and then back to mum's for an afternoon BBQ where I had a better opportunity to speak to our guests more informally!! Discovered, from one of my dad's cousin's, that her son had just got married and was currently at the exact resort in the Maldives that we were heading too!! Basically we would pass each other in the airport!!

This was more than we could have ever hoped for - the perfect wedding!! I will get an online album ASAP of the photos so everyone can have a peek!

Paper - What Weddings Are Really All About!!

Went into Arbroath today to drop off the fresh flowers to old 'Pie Bob' and to pick up the marrige paperwork. 'Pie Bob' loved the roses that we gave him, everyone so far has adored the colour of them! As do I still majorly chuffed that I got them - big cheesy grins!! We also gave him four miniature rose bushes. We are having some cream rose buds on the cake, as extra decoration so it was decided it would be best to give him the whole bush, then tomorrow he can pick off the ones he wants, then they won't have opened by the evening. It is going to take him an hour and a half to set the cake up tomorrow! Good lord!

The marriage certificate was easy to get, it had already been organised so it really was a case of just having to go into the registrar's office and pick up the papers. It is really weird talking about changing my name. To me, as I am sure it is to all people, is who I am, so the thought of changing that after 25 years of being who I am is a very strange concept, and probably what is causing me most stress about this wedding.

Shoes, Shoes, Come On!! Where's All The Shoes!!

Okay, the wedding is in ummm four days and I have only just got my shoes! Suddenly remembered that,

'Duh! I need something on my feet!!!'

I am just not a shoe person, I don't go gooey over shoes, they are for keeping your feet dry, that's all, and I find them such a hastle to buy as well! Try them on, feet the wrong shape, try on another pair, looks great but too small, don't have it in your size, have it three sizes too big, will that do? Ah No! Almost as bad as clothes shopping. There's an instant way to make yourself feel fat!! Clothes shopping! Anyway, I digress...

We were going into Glasgow anyway for some last minute shopping for the Honeymoon so I thought,

'Fine, Glasgow LOADS of shoe shops'

And this is true, there are loads of shoe shops, just no shoes in them!!!

In the end Next came to the rescue with some wonderful shoes, not too expensive and in my size!!

Phew!...

Last Day of Work ... and Surprises All Round!!

Well, what a great last night and this morning!! Some totally unexpected gifts and celebrations! Its really weird I didn't think that people would be that interested, I don't mean that in a negative way, obviously I don't think that they would just be kind of
"oh, a wedding, blarghhh"
I thought there would be congratulations and questions from those not in the family and a few wishes of good luck but I have been blown away by the niceness of people.

Take last night, the last day of poker for us for the next 3/4 weeks (except Sunday, but we have established that that doesn't count) Two of the people we know from the poker, Barrie and Isobel gave us a card and a gift which was totally unexpected! Thanks very much guys! Then totally out of the blue was a gift and card from the lady whos pub we host the poker in!! A beautiful gift it was too (even if someone else did unwrap it!) I was quite overcome, I am not used to people making such a fuss!! :) :) :)

Then to just add to my "wow!" I get into work today, late (never trust alarm clocks!!) to find that everyone has signed a card, and decorated my desk with balloons and banners and even put together a little guide to marriage for us! LOL We are also heading out for lunch to a Indian resturant!! I am again so happy, I am really not used to this and it is so nice!!!

Exactly 1 week to go! - You're sitting where?

So, its the final week count down and I have just had an email from mum which appears to imply that they aren't doing the seating plan today which is what they were supposed to be doing. The seating plan is one joy that I have not had the pleasure of being part of. As i don't even really know over HALF the people coming to the wedding (that includes my family too) it seems inpossible for me to make any placing reccommendations!! So, if the fights break out I can stand back and say
"Nowt to do with me!!"

Second last day of work also, then three weeks off!!!!! How cool is that? I've only been here about 4 months and already major time off! They've been great though, I told them at the interview that I was getting married and they were happy to accommodate. They've even helped me get extra days off to cover what I needed (so I didn't have to take unpaid leave) by extending my contract by two months (i'm currently on a temporary contract). Have to admit I have become a little distracted.....

Poker tonight, last one for about 4 weeks. Sounds like a few people are coming along, hope its not too late a night.!! I'm not counting Sunday as to be honest it just seems like a bit of a waste of time!! Particularly when you could be using the time doing something wedding related!

Final Countdown - Don't People Write Things Down Anymore?

Well,

Just had an email from mum saying that the venue wants to know when the photographer and videogrpaher are turning up next Thursday! Now, I will stand corrected but I am pretty darn sure that we told them this at lease once if not twice as soon as we knew oursleves. It worries me slightly that the venue doesn't keep better records. But as I say I may be wrong, probably am, or I missed the point! That wouldn't be the first time.
Well, David has been band, photographer and videographer so I direct mum's request to him. Apparently the photographer is on holiday till Monday 11th and we can't get hold of the videographer. So the venue will have to wait. I have made a guess at the time, cos I didn't write it down as I was assuming that the venue was keeping a record, this is another reason why I was sure they knew, becuase everything they don't know is written down by us and as the inforamtion is passed on it can be removed from this list!

Hang on...

Follow up email from mum..

oh no, she has been let lose with the book dad bought to 'keep himself right' which, along with the word of our wedding planner, has become the gospel according to dad. Apparently:

Groom pays for
Ring
Gift for bride (optional)
His outfit
Expenses for the ceremony venue so I suppose that means the donation to the church
Bride's & bridesmaid's bouquets !!!!! and the buttonholes and corsages
Gifts for attendants ( bridesmaids, pages, best man and ushers) and flowers for both mothers
Transport for him and best man to ceremony and bride to reception
Honeymoon etc

Bride pays for
Groom's ring
Gift for groom ( optional )
Hairdresser for herself and bridesmaids altho nowadays it says the bridesmaids may pay!!!!!

Sounds like I get a pretty good deal!!!

David cough up....

SWEETIES!!!!!

Got the sweets in for the favours so have been wrapping chocolate with voile like a woman possessed!! They are all done though, just three sit downs to do 92 (then I ran out of ribbon) favours, that should be enough as RSVPs have started coming back and we are at something like 81 people and 13 kids (not that children aren't people but they aren't in terms of favours. They are getting their own!!) Lucky things I'm not... I want a favour!

This is actually run two of the favours as the first time we bought some lovely little edible silver leaf covered choclates.. and little they were, so we have had to bulk them out a bit, and to be honest it has made a much nicer looking gift! Hurray for mishaps that lead to creation...

In the same boxes came the disposable cameras that we are putting on each table, so peeps can take photos of the goings on. To be honest I am most looking forward to seeing the ones we get from the chldren's tables!! Embarrassing photos aplenty...

The Pipes - The Pipes!!!!!

If they are calling.... run away.

I had wanted to be piped up the aisle to Highland Cathedral, really love that song! But now it has been recommended that we get piped back down the aisle, but what to? I haven't liked anything so far, and when people keep asking you and playing songs at you over and over, at some point you have to crack....

The Fitting - It Does!!

Well we went off for our dress fittings, as well as a crazy day the day before when Jess had a trial of her hair and we both had our make-up done!! Gillian is going to have all this to look forward to next week when she is down from Elgin!!

The hair went great, Jess looked good, we even got to spray her with spray on glitter! Sounds a bit retro but isn't, trust me, i'm a bride! It did look good though so I am wondering if I should change my hair too. I'm not 100% happy with some of the phots, quite frankly they make me look bald. hmmm....

The make up was WAY better than the first run through, very natural looking, just how I wanted it to be. The first time was just too heavy for me, particularly as I am not used to wearing make-up at all.!!

Dress fitting, I thought I wasn't going to like the woman initially, as she seemed quite brisk and official, but I guess if you are used to having to deal with scatty brides every day then you have to be a bit controlling. But soon it became obvious that i wasn't going to be like that as, apart from two stitches, my dress fitted perfectly! Nothing needing doing! Excellent! And cheap!! I tried the dress with a hoop but.... well, its ridiculous, now I know how those old knitted toliet roll dolls felt!! ANd with Jess only needing minor alterations.. good times!!

We chilled out in the afternoon with a trip to a Victorian market, where we explored the stalls and listened to a little band made entirely of people bonking bells, really pretty!

They are done - Oh Lord, they are done!

Finally finished the invitations which I am making myself. Did you ever start something and then half way through realise that it maybe wasn't such a great idea....

They look good though, even if I do say so myself! Just have to ship them off to M&D now and they have the equally unenviable task of mailing them all out to the guests! I have also finished the little place name tags too, they are very elegant and simple and a lot faster to make!! My uncle is using his calligraphy to write the names on them
"THANKS UNCLE NORMAN"
he is also doing some fancy work around the outside of the main table plan, i forget the posh name but its the kind of drawn patterns that monks used to put around their work... what is that called....

The insert to the invitations are causing a bit of grief, one fact being that i want to be referred to by my first and second name, not just my first. If David is getting the whole lot, first middle and last + a MR and mum and dad are getting MR & MRS 'the whole hog' why am I just Rosemary? Looks odd to me, although apparently that is how it is done. Hmm.... not on these invites me thinks...

Confetti - Who Knew!!!!

ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confetti, who knew it would be the most difficult thing of the whole wedding to organise!!! How much does each person get? How many people do you supply to? When do you give it to them? And how? I kid you not David and I were on the computer for I would say, in all, 3 hours!! Give or take!
Do you want the stuff measured in cups, litres or grammes?
Litres.
Fine. Here's the cones to put it in.
How much goes in each cone?
About a handful.

About a handful? Not even A handful, just about a handful. Whos hand?

All this is of course after you have decided what type of confetti you want!! Luckily I had known from the outset, whcih is probably why it was being made so difficult, I wanted real petals.

Eventually we found a great company who had a very helpful website. We decided to get the amount they recommended for 40 people, that's about half our guests. That way we are supplying some for those who have none and also guarenteeing some nice confetti for the confetti shower photos! Gone for deep burgandy and cream.

Honeymoon... Sand Banks and Money Banks..

Booked the honeymoon today, or at least tried to!! Bank of Scotland not withstanding.

We have finally settled on the Maldivian Island of Meeru, and we are having a jacuzzi water villa! That will keep us both happy! So we headed to Thomas Cook and spoke to a really nice lady who helped us out no end, even phoning up the island resort itself to make sure we would be getting exactly what we wanted!! It was going to be expensive but we wanted to celebrate with a once in a lifetime trip! The holiday includes a dive, a night fishing and a session on the golf driving range(!) We are taking a speed boat from Male to the island which is an hours trip, but should give us an opportunity to see all the sights of the Maldives!!

The title suggests that we had bank problems, and we did! Thank you Bank of Scotland for making life difficult! We had money in my account to cover the deposit, but then we decided that we would pay the full amount when we booked the holiday so we moved the rest of the funds into our joint account, we'd need to make two payments but that'd be fine...

..no it wouldn't. We started with the deposit amount and all went through fine, no problem at all. Then we said can we just pay the rest of the amount due, sure. We hand over our card and she starts the banking process. The amount is high so, of course, so she had to contact the bank for a permission code (or something) so she used the telephone banking system, putting it on speaker phone so we could hear what was going on. After a few typings of various numbers and codes the automated voice announces to the entire travel agency "Card Declined". She quickly turns off speaker phone to save us the embarrassment that has already occurred. She tries again but with the same result.
What!? Where has al our miney gone!!! Who has our money!!!?
The bank is of course closed when we go in to try and sort it out.

**Addition** After contacting the bank today (Monday) we have found that they have put out account on suspension. Why? Because we have two cards for our joint account, one is mine one is Dave's, however Dave never uses his card, whereas I use mine all the time. But becuase one of the cards is 'idle' they suspended the account!! But of course for security reasons they can't send you any paperwork to tell you they have suspended the account! We can't sort it over the phone we have to go into the bank.

**Second Addition** We went into the bank to re-activate our account, armed with as much prrof of identity as we can find!
"We've come to re-activate our account"
"Okay, that's it re-activated"
"What we don't need to prove who we are?"
"Nope"

Fair enough. We want to pay for the rest of the honeymoon today..

"Will we be able to use the account?
"No it'll take a day to re-activate fully"
"Oh. Can we transfer the money over into my account and use it from there?"
"Yes."
"Still without proving who we are?
"Yes"

Loving the security!

Anyhow, the honeymoon is paid for and we are all set to go! BIt worried about the whole name change thing but have been assured that as long as my password is in the same name as the tickets there won't be a problem....

We Are Going To The Maldives...No....Yes.. Are We?... What?

So,

Trying to book the Honeymoon, we are pretty sure that the Maldives is the place for us, two weeks with sun, sea, surf and just us! That's the kind of thing we like, we aren't party animals and history or relaxation, then we are happy! But trying to eplain that to a travel agent is not the easiest thing in the world!! They see two 20 somethings walking into the shop and immediately think 18 - 30's holiday, Spain, job's a good-un!

Travel Agent One:
We asked for a holiday to the Maldives, two weeks please. Theere was a slight uneasy look spreading across the face of the travel agent
"Is that a problem?"
Well, its apparently a great place but that people who had been there before for two weeks have found that it can get a bit boring as there is nothing extra, just the island. Did we want to consider a two centre holiday? Hadn't thought about that, where did they suggest? Well, how about Dubai? You are stopping there to chnage planes anyway, why not stay for a coupe of days before going on?
Okay..
Well, if we were to stay for five days in Dubai and 9 in the Maldives (instead of 14 in the Maldives) we could look at adding another £2000ish on to the price!! Ummm... no.. we are already way over budget as it is.
We will go away and discuss more.

Travel Agent Two:
Same, 'Why not Spain?' questions then the same 'Two weeks? In the Maldives?' look, had we considered a two centred holiday? Not until today... What did they suggest?
How about Thailand? Thailand, I quite like the sound of that, they have some beautiful resorts in the North, very relaxing. Prices don't look much different to the Maldives so our already over-blown budget shouldn't change much! Ok, lets do that, really quite excited about the prospect of seeing the temples and things...
"Sorry we don't do twin centre holidays North Thailand/Maldives."
"Pardon me?"
"We'll try and see if we can just put it together from flights and direct hotel bookings."
Yes, you do that!! What is it with travel agents and only wanting to sell you package holidays? Tailor-made holidays my foot, its "you can go anywhere as long as you go where we tell you!!"
It is going to involve loads of flights and changes and single nights, okay maybe for a normal holiday but not a honeymoon, as little stress as possible please.

This is not going to be easy... why can't we just go to the Maldives.. that's where we want to go....

Mmmmmm - Cake

We went to sort out the cake today. Spoke to the man. We are getting our cake from the somewhat dubiously named 'Pie Bob's' in Arbroath. I thought that David was joking when we pulled up outside! I have to admit I dis say
"There is no way I am geting my cake from a place called 'Pie Bob's'!!"
However, there is apparently little in a name, the company was called Angel Cakes (much more suitable) and was a subsiduary of Pie Bob's. The guy was great and really knew his cakes and what would be best without making it his cake rather than ours! We are going for three layers, bottom layer chocolate fudge!!!!! second layer which is directly on top of the bottom layer will be straight sponge and then the third layer is a light fruit cake (me and david don't like the dark stuff) but this layer is perched on some little columns. The icing is going to be cream, as this was closest to the the ivory of my dress and he is going to try and match the ribbon that goes around the cake board to my burgandy on my dress. The decoration is going to be fresh flowers, the roses from my bouquet, which are Black Baccara and Cream. More on the flowers in a flowers post, have yet to speak to the florist.

Snap!!

At the wedding fair in Guthrie I spotted and talked to the photographer that i wanted. However, not everyone agreed. Dad was very keen a a gentleman whose photos, no doubt, were very good, but this lady's stuff just attracted me to it. She seemed to offer so much. Also she was a very nice person and I think that in terms of a photographer who is going to be with you for a large part of the day, taking, what I feel to be, the most important parts of the wedding, the photos you need to get on with her/him. Afterall you don't want the fact that you were irritated by the photographer to show up on the lasting record of the day!!

So in the end the bride prevailed and Ally Stuart was booked for the 14th August. We have to visit her to have a proper talk about what we want and to confirm the booking with her but that isn't for a few weeks.

*This entry is in the total wrong place but I have just realised that it didn't feature and I can't remember the date so I am sticking it here!!*

No More Supplier

The shop that I am getting my wedding dress from is closing. She says that this will not effect any of the orders at all but that when they come in we will have to store them until the day, as she won't have insurance anymore for storing them at her house. This is not a disaster but it is an added worry that we didn't think that we would have.

Ho hum..

We are getting the veil cheap though, we went and looked at the one that she had in the shop which she had been using as a display model. It was fine, she said that if we took it she would steam clean it for us so it would be as good as new. And we could get it for £25 instead of the £50 it would cost new, excellent, one of them please.

Crunch Time...

I have to make a decision on the dress. It is breaking my heart! I have had my heart set on the AA one for ages, since I knew I was getting married in fact! But the other is so much different and has more of a WOW factor than the other, again without being over the top... argh!!

I feel like I am letting myself down as I was so set on the other dress, but I think that I know in my heart that it is the Medieval one that is winning, much more of a dress than the other. Maybe I could get married twice? The veil looks wonderful too, i am getting one that is edged with burgandy silk ribbon, so I am all matching!!

The bridesmaids are easier. Jess modelled a couple for me and it was simple to see which was the best. I know some brides seem to go out of their way to make their bridesmaids look stupid, huge meringue dresses in lime green or something! Probably an attempt to make sure that they don't show them up on the day, but I want my bridesmaids to compliment me and i want them to be comfortable too, so I have left the decision of straps or no straps ups to them, the dresses can be either way. I don't mind I would rather they were comfortable, with that in mind I am leaving their shoe choice up to them too, only stipulation, they have to be cream and obviously no biker boots!!

I'll give you a sneaky peek at the bridesmaids dresses. This isn't the best photo but it'll do. The body of the dress will be burgandy, like the photo but the ribbon detailing will be in ivory. I am going to get the ribbon to go right to the hemline as shown, some have it knee height, but I love full length things. (Its a free ribbon that hangs down, it flaps about, not sewn down the dress.)And as I said above it can have little spaghetti straps, which I think both bridesmaids will opt for, I know I would!

The Dress - Definately, Definately That One.. Or Maybe...

I know the exact dress that I want. I have seen it in the catalogues and it is just what I want! It is elegant and has plenty WOW factor without being too over the top. It is by the designer Alfred Angelo and nothing has competed with it in all the books so I was off to try it on today...

She only had it in blue and white whereas I want it in Ivory and Burgandy, however the style is what is important. I can honestly say that it is gorgeous!! I loved it and I was told I looked great, even a bit of flattery from the woman that usually girls find it too 'exposed' at the front as it has no boning around the stomach so there's nothing to hold you in, but that I 'obviously didn't need it'! Probably a bit of sales patter but its good too hear!! Maybe the sit-ups are worth it....

Then I made the dreaded mistake of thinking, I have only tried on one dress maybe I should try on others 'just in case'! Bad move!! There are now two dresses that I love, buy two different designers. Its awful, when I tried on the second dress (after a few okay ones and a few 'umm no way' ones) it loked amazing, it was so different but gave a totally different feel to the whole thing. One is elegant, the other kind of Medieval.

Oh dear....
